Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you clean on the same day as garbage day?
Most garbage routes have a pickup time for each of their services at different times. For example, garbage can be picked up in the early morning, while Recycle is picked up after 3pm.
Due to the inconsistent time schedules, we know we can almost guarantee the next day it will be empty, and ready for a full cleaning and sanitizing service.
How do I know when my cleaning days are?
• Log into your account: when you log onto your can washers account, click on the sidebar on the “Subscription details” tab to see when your next cleaning is.
• Text alerts: We try to make it easier on you by sending text messages the night before your cleaning, as well as the morning of your cleaning when our driver is on their way. When signing up make sure to select that you want to receive SMS text messages for this feature to work.
How often should bins be cleaned?
For most homes, trash and recycle bins should be professionally cleaned once a month to prevent the buildup of bacteria, odors, maggots, and pests. If your bins are exposed to extreme heat (like in Arizona), contain food waste, or are used frequently, monthly cleaning is ideal.
Some customers prefer quarterly cleanings for maintenance, but monthly service offers the best protection against germs and smells.
We recommend starting with a deep clean, then maintaining with regular service to keep your bins fresh, sanitary, and safe year-round.
